It's raining, it's pouring

Update!! I added arm/hand holes and changed the button to a Velcro closure.
Much better!!

(my high school sewing teacher would be SO proud!)

While Debbie was here visiting, we went to a couple of fabric stores. When we saw the sample hanging of this poncho, we knew Jayleigh had to have one. So...

the outside is laminated fabric and the inside is flannel! I think I'm going to change the button and buttonhole to Velcro. And I'm going to put slits in it so her hands can come through the poncho.

Cute, huh????

She made it!

My best friend's daughter is going to attend college at the U of U. Debbie and Taylor flew out here from Boston for cheer try outs. Taylor worked hard, learned new steps, new cheers, new dances and on top of it all made it look easy!

Taylor was busy with clinics up at the U, practicing at gyms at night, fixing her hair, applying her makeup and she always had a pretty smile. Clinics on Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, with Wednesday being try outs. I was exhausted just watching her. Poor Debbie was continuously giving me a play by play on what the kids were doing, and how hard it was to do. (It looked hard!!)

Results were posted on the U of U Cheer website
Friday at 12 noon.

Lots of nervous stomachs, lots of sleepless nights, lots of laughing, lots of crying, and lots of praying...

While downtown at the Gateway, we walked over to see the dancing waters.

She couldn't stand NOT running through the water...

So I told her to go for it!!

She did say that it would be cold...

So, after she ran through it, she was WET. It was cold, and she was WET!! HA!

So we walked over the Justice for girls, and bought her this new ensemble including sunglasses. What a treat for me, and hopefully she'll remember this for a long time!!
